Update: Free Uphill Skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort

Black Tie Ski Rentals of Crested Butte posted a few days ago about Crested Butte Mountain Resort lifting the fee for uphill skiing. We found out that this only applied to pass holders. Below is some official information regarding the program. Either way, Black Tie Ski Rentals of Crested Butte would like to send out a big thanks to Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) for making this policy change. Here is the information straight from CBMR:

Uphill Access now included with Peak Pass

Thank you to those who have taken the time to email, stop in and call about our Uphill Access privileges and pass. We appreciate that you’ve taken the time to express your concerns and ideas. We’ve listened to what you’ve shared with us and seriously considered all your feedback. Our main goal of this program is not to make money, but to grow the sport, and create additional value for this customer base. The money gained by this program will go right back into the program. In considering our goals with growth and value of this program we have made a last minute decision to give all Peak Pass holders uphill access as part of their Peak Pass privileges.

For guests and locals without a CBMR Peak Pass, the options are to purchase an uphill day ticket for $10 or purchase an Uphill Access season pass for $100, valid for the 2013-2014 season. We hope many of you will enjoy this change, and partake in the uphill movement.

Given our partnership with the Crested Butte Nordic Center, below is some clarification on that program:
For those who have purchased a Crested Butte Nordic Center pass, but are not current CBMR pass holders and are not looking for downhill privileges, present that pass at CBMR and receive an Uphill Access season pass for just $50. Likewise, for those that have already purchased an Uphill Access pass or a Peak Pass+, you may present that pass at CB Nordic Center and purchase a CB Nordic season pass for $50 off. It is our hope that this partnership will expand the uphill ski movement even further.
