Canyons Resort, until 2015 was a stand-alone resort popular with locals for its accessibility and shorter lift lines than Park City Mountain Resort. With open bowls, huge amounts of terrain and the fact that it is closer to I-80 than the other resorts made it a great first stop on your way in to town for your first ski day. Now that they are one resort, you no longer have to choose. Stop at Canyons Village for easier parking and ski your way over to the Park City Base for lunch before working your way back to the car in the afternoon. Canyons Village Features the “Orange Bubble” a heated, covered bright orange 6-pack chairlift that is popular for its colorful pictures from under the dome.

“Growing up on the flatlands of Indiana, my favorite week of the year was the one filled with snowy slopes out west.”
I spent the other 51 weeks planning my routes on trail maps. So, after studying economics and statistics at Carnegie Mellon University, I moved west to chase the powder. Steamboat Springs, Aspen, Vail…I have incredible memories of so many days skiing and snowboarding on so many different mountains. I remember Park City Mountain’s Scott’s Bowl on my first really big powder day when I was 12. After a run like that, there’s no getting it out of your system.
In 2006, my powder dreams came true when I opened Black Tie Ski Rentals in Park City. Since then, I’ve received my MBA degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. I met my wife, Deepika, in Chicago and we now have a beautiful daughter, Daniela, whom I can’t wait to take skiing and snowboarding. Sometimes we stray back to the midwest or to a beach, but I’ll always find myself in Park City when the snow comes.
It’s been a great ride and I’m looking forward to many more years of helping our customers fulfill their own powder dreams in Park City!
