Winter is coming!

Fall in Whistler is well-known for being, well, a bit rainy, and this year was no exception. By early November, droves of local Whistler-ites have fled for warmer climates to soak up some much-needed sunshine and R&R before the busy winter season kicks in, and who could blame them? It’s been raining non-stop for two weeks and it’s hard to see a silver lining…

…It WAS hard, of course, until the clouds broke on November 1st to reveal the kind of bluebird alpine views that hard-core skiers and boarders dream about. The peaks glistened with fresh pow and the snow line had crept halfway down the mountain, nearly to mid-station on Whistler and the base of Solar Coaster on Blackcomb.

It’s winter sneak-peeks into like this that remind us of the light at the end of this rainy tunnel, and that light comes in the form of the 30′ of snow we receive annually, being dubbed the #1 Ski Resort in North America (again!) by Ski Magazine, our Village teeming with people from around the globe and enough world-class events, dining and recreational winter activities to fill a month (or an entire season).

Whether you are new to the snow scene or have been skiing since you were old enough to walk (as my kids were!), we can’t wait to welcome you to our Winter Paradise. We’ll have plenty of snow ready for you!
