Winter Competitions, Music, and More!

Another week of events in Crested Butte has locals and visitors excited to celebrate. More pro tips as well as local and abroad events that feature some homegrown Crested Butians are in the queue. Be sure to book with Black Tie Ski Rentals and appreciate some on and off mountain events.

Keep your tips up and tip a glass during this weekly, winter-long women’s ski series. Cozy up with fellow ladies and enjoy a guided session in skiing with some pros at the Umbrella Bar at the top of Painter Boy Lift on Crested Butte Mountain Resort February 6 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Please visit www.skicb.com for details.

The 2018 Winter Olympics are upon us. With two local athletes competing this winter, you will not want to miss a second of the PyeongChang competition. Grab a drink and some grub when you use your VIP card courtesy of Black Tie Ski Rentals at any one of our affiliates and catch the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony on February 9th. Be sure to cheer on Crested Butte raised competitors Aaron Blunck and David Chodounsky respectively in men’s halfpipe and slalom. Please visit https://olympics.com/ for a list of event dates and times.

February 10th and 11th Crested Butte Mountain Resort will be hosting the USASA Slopestyle and Rail Jam, so be sure to wax and sharpen your sticks. Slopestyle will be held on Saturday, followed by two separate rail jam series on Sunday, each with awards at the end of the day.

Crested Butte’s 5th annual Miner’s Ball will take place on February 10th at 6 pm. Meet at Tony’s Conoco on Elk Avenue where the Crested Butte Heritage Museum will be celebrating the unique history of Crested Butte and as well as its locals with food from Soupcon and drinks from Coal Creek Distillery. Please visit www.crestedbuttemuseum.com, stop by the museum, or call 970.349.1880 for event details.

Before making your way to the Miner’s Ball, head to Butte 66 at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort for CB Unplugged featuring Tony Furtado from 4 to 6 pm on February 10th. Tony mixes several stringed instruments from the banjo to the ukulele with a unique sound you won’t want to miss. Visit www.skicb.com for details.

February 11th at 8 pm, the Crested Butte Center for the Arts presents Zoso, a Led Zepplin-esque band seemingly snatched right out of the 70’s and put in front of you, live. Enjoy a blast from the past with an authentically vintage musical experience. Please visit www.crestedbuttearts.org for details.
