The Trailing of the Sheep

As most of you know, if you know Sun Valley, the trailing of the sheep is an iconic look back at the way things used to be in the Sawtooth Valley. Sun Valley started as a sheep herding mecca that turned into one of the first destination ski resorts in the country. Each fall they go back in time and recreate the process of herding the sheep back up through the valley in preparation for winter. Its a great time for everyone and a wonderful transition from fall to the upcoming winter season.

With the cold weather we have been receiving and the technologically advanced snowmaking system that Sun Valley employs, it won’t be long before we can get the skis back out and start chasing those powder and bluebird days. Here at Black Tie we are bringing in some new skis for the upcoming season. One of the new brands we will be introducing is Fischer. We feel this is a great addition to the brands we already carry including Volkl, Dynastar, Salomon, Blizzard and Atomic.

If you have and question or just want to talk about the local area please feel free to give us a call anytime and we will be happy to help in any way that we can. Its only 29 degrees on the top of Bald Mt right now and there is still some snow from the last storm. Winter isn’t far off…
