Snow Making Begins in Crested Butte

Wow!  With just four weeks until the ski season opens in Crested Butte, the weather continues to trend towards winter, exciting all of us at Black Tie.  Colder temperatures and snowfall have graced us lately, encouraging skiing and snowboarding in the back country as well as booter building and rail sliding.  Our customers are starting to notice the changing weather because the reservations are starting to roll in for the upcoming season.

Snow making!!  Crested Butte Mountain Resort officially started their snow making operations yesterday on Halloween.  The guns have been up for a few weeks and we can’t wait to watch the base grow bigger as we approach opening day.

Projects and happenings have been moving along here at Black Tie as well.  New equipment from Rossignol, Nordica, and Salomon showed up today to add to the pile of Atomic and K2 gear.  Though our tuning machines are idle, we plan on putting them online in the next two weeks to bring our ski and snowboard rental fleet up to standard and start tuning customer skis.

We look forward to the start of the 2013-2014 ski season.  Don’t forget to make your ski and snowboard rental reservations!

Think Snow!
