Ring in the New Year in Crested Butte
However you want to ring in the new year, Crested Butte has many options for you.
Be sure to start your evening by watching the classic New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and fireworks at the base of the mountain. Starting at 5:30pm, watch Crested Butte’s finest ski and snowboard instructors wind their way down the mountain carrying orange flames to light up their path. During the torchlight parade, there will be a fireworks show, best seen from the base area of the mountain on the Butte 66 deck. While at Butte 66, there will also be live music and drink specials.
The ski instructors aren’t the only ones who can light up the night. The Kids Glow Worm Parade is open to kids ages 7 and up that are level 4 skiers and can ski without poles. If you would like your kids to participate, you can sign the waiver at the bottom of the Red Lady Express lift from 4:15pm to 4:30pm and then the kids will ride the lift up to meet the ski school supervisors.
Looking for something a little bit more low-key? The Artists of the West Elks are hosting a town Art Walk between 6pm and 9pm. Stroll through the galleries of Crested Butte and marvel at the diverse artistic expressions of local artisans.

For the early birds, Montanya Distillers is hosting live music by the Gypsy Jazz Social Club beginning at 6 pm. Come on out to listen to the finest jazz while sipping on the finest rum in the valley.
The Eldo is hosting a new year’s bash featuring live music from Bill Smith and a celebration of the 20th anniversary of their brewing company. There will be a free Champagne toast and free pints from 7-9pm on selected beer.
Whose ready to party like its 2016? LOCO is hosting “the Party of Partiers” and they encourage you to dress like your favorite partier of all time. It will be a night to remember, with all-inclusive entertainment, cocktails, and food from 9PM ’til 2AM. A limited number of tickets are available for purchase now at just $75. for everything: food, drink, entertainment, tax and tip.
The Dogwood Cocktail Cabin is hosting New Year’s Spirit Animal Mask-Uerade Ball! DJDMP and DJ N8TURE will be dropping beats on the dance floor. Come on out to show your inner animal from 7pm-2am.
