Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run will host Selections from Lunafest – films for, by and about women

LUNAFEST®, the fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and bringing women together in their communities, will be hosted by Girls on the Run of the Wood River Valley at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum on Friday, Nov. 3rd.

This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through six short films by women filmmakers. The films range from animation to fictional drama, and cover topics such as women’s health, motherhood, body image, aging, cultural diversity and breaking barriers. This year’s line up includes locally produced and featuring Wood River native Janel Passey in LONG DISTANCE RUNNER.

Submissions for our “What empowers you to pursue your dreams” photo/essay are being accepted through October 31st. Submissions can be emailed to mary@girlsontherunwrv.org and should include an original photo taken by the contestant and a 100 word essay. Photos and essays should tell a story of what empowers the entrant to pursue their dreams and how the prize will enable them to take steps to attain their dream. The winner will be determined by a vote of the event attendees, and will receive a $200 Visa gift card to use towards pursuing their dream.

Tickets are available in Ketchum at the Elephant’s Perch, in Sun Valley at SQN Sport, in Hailey at Iconoclast Books and online at girlsontherunwrv.org/lunafest. $20/adult, $10/youth & senior, $40/Red Carpet Reception.
