FIS Freestyle and Park City Grand Prix coming to town

Every year deer valley hosts the FIS Freestyle World Cup and this year is no different. This year marks the 17th year that Deer Valley has hosted the event.

The 2016 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup competition begins Feb 3rd with the Moguls finals under the lights on Deer Valley’s Champion ski run. Qualifications begin at 3 p.m. with finals at 7 p.m. Awards and fireworks take place immediately following the competition. All events are free to the public and it is a huge event here in town. If you happen to be lucky enough to be here, I would definitely go take a look.

On top of the event at Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort is holding the Park City Grand Prix event again this year. This will be the 20th season that Park City is holding the event, making it the longest running domestic series the USSA has going. The series began in 1995, giving athletes like Sage Kotsenburg and Kelly Clark the chance to compete on home turf while moving through the rankings to become the superstars they are today. Athletes must meet minimum criteria for invitation to participate in the U.S. Grand Prix, which will also serve as part of the Olympic selection process. The event will start on Feb 4th and is also free to the public.
