Delta adding new direct flight to Friedman Memorial for the 2015-16 season

Delta Airlines has added a new weekly nonstop flight between Los Angeles and Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey for the upcoming winter season, Fly Sun Valley Alliance Director Carol Waller announced Tuesday.

Waller said the service will be available on Saturdays between Feb. 13 and April 2, adding additional access to the Wood River Valley from the large and important Southern California market using a 65-seat CRJ-700 regional jet.

“We are always happy to add any additional flights to the valley,” she said.

Nonstop flights to and from five major cities—Los Angeles, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver and San Francisco—will be available for the winter season, with roughly 48,000 seats, a 13 percent increase over last winter, Waller said.

She said Delta will offer three daily Salt Lake City flights on selected dates and two daily flights otherwise, plus the Saturday service to Los Angeles between Feb. 13 and April 2.

Alaska Airlines, Waller said, will offer Seattle daily flights between Dec. 17 and March 28, with additional flights on Dec. 24 and between Dec. 26 and Jan. 3. Daily service to Los Angeles will be available between Dec. 17 and March 28.

United Express will offer San Francisco flights between Dec. 17 and March 28, and will offer also offer daily Denver flights from Dec. 17 to Jan. 4, then on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Jan. 5 to Feb. 7, and Thursday through Monday flights from Feb. 8 to March 28.
