Countdown to winter 2014/2015

The Tahoe area did receive its first winter storm last week which brought 3-10 inches of snow to the higher elevations. It sure was nice to wake up and see snow on the peaks! This photo is of the gondola line and the face at Heavenly Ski Resort covered in the white stuff.

Mt. Rose Ski Resort is the first to open in our area this season with one lift running and $10 lift tickets available for at least the weekend of November 7-9. Both Heavenly and Kirkwood Ski Resorts here in South Tahoe are slated to open the weekend of November 21. As for a long range winter snow forecast, we’re hearing that we’ll see a weak El Nino weather pattern here in the west. This generally bodes well for us in Tahoe with plenty of moisture hitting our slopes! Here at Black Tie Ski Rentals we’ve been busy doing the snow dance and getting all of our new equipment ready for you. We look forward to starting up for the season on November 20!
