Black Tie Ski Rental Delivery Expands to Sun Peaks for the 2026-2027 Season

Locally owned by Sun Peaks residents Rob and Sasha Garrett, the new operation will deliver and fit ski and snowboard rentals directly at guests’ accommodation.
SUN PEAKS, B.C. — August 19, 2026 — Black Tie Ski Rental Delivery is expanding to Sun Peaks for the 2026/27 winter season, bringing its established ski and snowboard rental delivery model to the resort for the first time.
The delivery-first service is designed to make the rental process easier from booking through final pickup. Guests book online or by phone, and the Black Tie team brings the selected equipment to their accommodation at a scheduled time. Skis, snowboards and boots are fitted on site, with support available for adjustments or equipment swaps during the stay. The equipment is collected when the rental period is complete.
Black Tie Sun Peaks becomes the company’s fourth Canadian location, joining Banff, Whistler and Tremblant. Across North America, Black Tie now operates 21 locally owned locations serving 49 winter resorts.
The Sun Peaks location is locally owned and operated by Rob and Sasha Garrett, who live in Sun Peaks with their family and are preparing to begin operations ahead of the 2026/27 ski season.
For the Garretts, opening Black Tie Sun Peaks is an opportunity to build a business in the community they have chosen to call home. Rob first lived and worked at Sun Peaks during the winters between 2009 and 2013, including time in ski retail and as a ski instructor. Sasha has also spent several seasons working in mountain destinations in Canada and Australia. After years living in New Zealand, the family returned to Sun Peaks in 2024 to put down permanent roots.
“We wanted to create something that would allow us to be part of the community year-round, build relationships with guests and help make their time at Sun Peaks easier and more enjoyable,” said Sasha Garrett, co-owner of Black Tie Ski Rentals Sun Peaks. “For us, it’s about providing thoughtful service and doing our part to make a ski trip run a little more smoothly.”
Founded in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in 2002, Black Tie has built its rental model around scheduled delivery, personalized fittings and locally operated locations. Sun Peaks will apply that established model with a local team and equipment fleet selected for the resort.
Black Tie Sun Peaks will operate from a new base at Peaks West, providing a local home for its equipment, operations and in-store fittings, while keeping rental delivery at the centre of the guest experience.
The service will be particularly helpful for families, groups, first-time visitors and destination travellers who want to avoid adding a rental shop visit to an already busy arrival day.
“Arrival day can be busy, especially when a family or group is coordinating travel, accommodation and lift access,” said Rob Garrett, co-owner of Black Tie Ski Rentals Sun Peaks. “Our goal is to remove the rental shop scramble. We bring the gear to the guest, take the time to fit it at their accommodation and remain available if something needs to be adjusted.”
