Best Opening Ever!

This last week, Crested Butte had the best opening day ever! There were more ski runs and ski lifts open than any other opening in Crested Butte history. Skiers and riders were happy to see the Red Lady and Paradise Lift’s spinning. The amount of open terrain could be attributed to significant pre-season snowfall combined with the hard work of the Crested Butte Mountain Resort snow making crews.

To date, Crested Butte has received 67″ of snow! This has contributed to a big bump in ski rental reservations for Black Tie Rentals of Crested Butte as guests have been committing early to visiting the Upper Gunnison Valley this winter. Early snow, combined with the national publicity of the Bud Light Whatever event, is making Crested Butte one of the most popular ski and snowboard destinations in Colorado. We’re encouraging customers to make their reservations early because ski rental times are filling up.
